For most people, this sounds like a dream — and, well, it is! Esports athletes have always had a tough time in Switzerland due to the high costs. Along with PostFinance, MYI gave five Swiss “League of Legends” players the chance to realize their full potential for a year. These five rose to the top out of more than 800 applicants and could now focus entirely on training — with a professional coach, plus fitness- and mental-trainer.
The project was a real beacon, showing the hidden talents in Switzerland, and also served as a launchpad for promising esports careers. One standout example: player Mahdi “Pride” Nasserzadeh made it into the youth squad of one of Europe’s most renowned teams and is still a pro athlete today.
